Regional Conference „The Crowd at the Counter“

On 11 November 2014, a Regional Conference „The Crowd at the Counter“, named „New opportunities”.

The conference was organised under the programme Salter that Volunteer's Center Osijek (VCO) implements as a regional support center, in partnership with the county co-operative organisations:  PRONI Center for the social teaching – branch office Vukovar, "Oppidum" from Pleternica and Information Legal Center (ILC) from Slavonski Brod with cooperation and financial support of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development.

The conference was opened by Lejla Sehic Relic, Executive Director of the VCO Osijek and Vladimir Ham, Deputy Mayor of Osijek.
Cvjetana Plavša-Matic, Director of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, presented to participants new funding programs for civil society organizations and data on the previous social economical effects of support from the National Foundation for Civil Society Development.
Filip Milicevic from the Ministry of Labour and Pension System spoke about the development of social entrepreneurship in Croatia and presented the draft of the Strategy for the development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Croatia for the period from 2014 to 2020.

The Council for Civil Society Development, its priorities and future activities presented its president Zeljka Ljeljak Gracin.

Vesna Lendić Kasalo, Deputy Head of the Croatian Office for Cooperation with the NGOs had a dual role. Besides an introduction of the European Social Fund, and after the plenary presentations and representing examples of good practice, she introduced a new normative framework for the operation of associations represents the Law on Associations and the Law on Financial Operations and Accounting of Non-Profit Organizations.

The conference was attended about 100 representatives of civil society organizations and media representatives.
