Establishment of the Coordination of Councils and Representatives of National Minorities in Brod-Posavina County

The meeting of establishment of the Coordination of Councils of National Minorities was held in the premises of the Association of Blind Persons in Slavonski Brod on 20 April 2017.

During the meeting, representatives of Serbian, Roma and Albanian national minorities signed the Agreement on establishment of the Coordination of Councils and Representatives of National Minorities.

All signatories emphasized the importance of establishment of the Coordination which will contribute to promotion and protection of rights of national minorities in Brod-Posavina County. Representatives of national minorities who were unable to attend the  meeting subsequently signed the Agreement. Mr Dusan Nogic, president of the Council of Serbian national minorities for Brod-Posavina County  was elected for the president of the newly established Coordination and Mr Milan Mitrovic, president of the Council of Roma national minority for the city of Slavonski Brod was elected as his deputy.

The meeting  of establishment of the Coordination of Councils and Representatives of National Minorities was organized by ILC in collaboration with project partners  - HILS from Osijek, Brod-Posavina County and the Network of Roma associations in Croatia within the project "Legal inclusion and sustainable integration of Roma in Croatia", which is financed by the European Union program IPA 2012 "Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to ensure the effective implementation of EU standards in the realization of human rights" and co-financed by the Office for CSOs, Government of Republic of Croatia.
